A premium 3-stage whole-house water filter built on the standard Big Blue 20" × 4.5" cartridge format with a white-coated metal frame and two pressure gauges that show inlet and outlet pressure at a glance — the visual signal owners use to time cartridge changes accurately rather than guessing.
Why the Pressure Gauges Matter
The single most common service mistake on whole-house filters is changing cartridges too early or too late. Too early wastes money; too late means cartridges are saturated and contaminants reach the house water. Two pressure gauges (one before the cartridges, one after) make the timing decision objective:
- New, clean cartridges show roughly equal inlet and outlet pressure
- As cartridges accumulate sediment and dirt, the pressure differential grows
- A clear differential — typically once outlet pressure drops noticeably below inlet — means the cartridges are loaded and replacement is due
It's a small spec line that saves real money over the life of the system, and removes the guesswork that leads to early or late changes.
Three-Stage Filtration
- Stage 1 — 5 micron poly sediment filter: removes silt, dirt, sand, rust
- Stage 2 — 5 micron quality GAC: bulk chlorine reduction; granular activated carbon for high contact area
- Stage 3 — 5 micron quality coconut carbon block: secondary polish; coconut-shell carbon for higher surface area per gram than coal-based
Build and Installation
- Housings: Big Blue 20" × 4.5" — the standard Australian whole-house cartridge size
- Frame: white-coated metal for support
- Connections: 1" inlet and outlet — correct size for Australian mains supply lines
- Width: approximately 58 cm (frame and housings combined)
- Includes: plastic spanner for cartridge-housing opening, two pressure gauges, full cartridge set ready out of the box
Professional installation recommended. Mounts at the cold mains supply line at the point of entry.
Where This Tier Fits

- Deluxe stainless lockable ($1,300): SUS304 cabinet with lockable door — visual and tamper-resistance upgrade over this tier
