Whole House Water Filter Installation Cost - Australia

The cost of whole-house water filter installation depends on both the filtration system and the plumbing work required at the property. The most useful comparison is not simply the filter price: access to the incoming water main, pipework, mounting position and any additional components all affect the final installation scope.

Enviro Aqua standard supply-and-install package

Enviro Aqua offers a fixed $2,399 + GST supplied-and-installed package for eligible Sydney and NSW Central Coast homes.

The $2,399 price excludes GST. The package is designed for standard installations and includes the whole-house filtration system plus professional installation, subject to service-area availability and property suitability.

What a standard installation includes

For the Enviro Aqua package, the standard scope includes the filtration system, supplied cartridges, mounting hardware, standard fittings, professional plumbing installation, testing and commissioning.

The $2,399 + GST package applies to standard installations with reasonable access to the incoming water main and typical plumbing requirements. Unusual access, extensive pipework, difficult excavation, non-standard plumbing or extra components may require a revised quote before work proceeds.

What affects installation cost?

Access to the incoming main

A straightforward external run with clear access is different from buried pipework, difficult excavation or a main that needs substantial rerouting.

Existing pipework

Pipe material, condition, diameter and the amount of new pipework required can change the installation scope.

Mounting location

The system needs an appropriate position with access for future cartridge servicing. The final location depends on the property's plumbing layout.

Additional components

Some properties need extra isolation, bypass arrangements, protection or non-standard fittings. These should be identified before installation rather than assumed to be included in every property.

Where is a whole-house filter installed?

A whole-house system is normally installed on the incoming cold-water main before water is distributed through the property, where the plumbing layout makes that appropriate.

This means the system can treat water before it reaches multiple taps, showers and appliances. The exact position varies from property to property.

What filtration is included?

The standard Enviro Aqua whole-house package uses a 3-stage system with sediment and activated-carbon filtration. The intended treatment includes suspended sediment plus improvement of chlorine, taste and odour on suitable mains-water supplies.

For the exact current system specification, see the whole-house product page.

Do not assume the standard mains-water configuration is the correct treatment for untreated rainwater, bore water or other non-standard sources.

Tank and rainwater properties

Tank-water properties can require a different treatment train. Depending on the source and intended use, that can include sediment filtration, carbon treatment and UV disinfection where appropriate.

The standard mains-water package should therefore not be treated as a universal tank-water solution. See the rural tank-water guide for that use case.

Product cost versus installed cost

A supply-only whole-house system and a fully installed system are different purchases. Supply-only pricing covers the equipment. Installed pricing also needs to account for the property-specific plumbing work, mounting, fittings, testing and commissioning.

Browse the whole-house water filter range for supply-only systems, or use the regional installation pages when the goal is a complete installed solution.

Frequently asked questions

How much is Enviro Aqua's standard whole-house installation package?

The standard package is $2,399 + GST supplied and installed for eligible Sydney and Central Coast properties, subject to standard installation conditions.

What can make a whole-house installation cost more?

Unusual access, extensive pipework, difficult excavation, non-standard plumbing or additional components can require a revised quote before work proceeds.

Where is a whole-house filter normally installed?

It is typically installed on the incoming cold-water main before water is distributed through the property, where the plumbing layout and access make that appropriate.

Does tank water use the same installation package?

Not automatically. Tank water can require a different treatment setup, including sediment filtration, carbon treatment and UV where appropriate. The water source should be assessed before selecting the system.
