Tap Thread Adaptor | 22mm to 24mm | Bench Top Filters

A tap thread adaptor for countertop and bench-top water filter systems — the small but important part that lets you connect a countertop filter's diverter valve to a kitchen tap with a non-standard thread size.

When You Need This Adaptor

Countertop water filters typically come with a standard diverter valve that threads onto the end of your kitchen tap, intercepting water from the tap and sending it through the filter. Most kitchen taps have a 22mm or 24mm external thread on the spout end (after removing the aerator).

Problem: the diverter valve supplied with your countertop filter has one thread size — typically 22mm. If your kitchen tap has the other size (24mm), the diverter won't thread on, and the filter you just bought is unusable.

This adaptor bridges the gap:

• 22mm to 24mm conversion (or 24mm to 22mm, depending on direction)
• Screws onto the diverter and then directly onto your tap
• Adds about 5mm of length to the diverter assembly

How to Identify Your Tap's Thread Size

Remove the aerator at the end of your kitchen tap spout (counterclockwise, usually unscrews by hand or with a soft cloth). Measure the external thread diameter with a vernier caliper or compare against a known reference. Most Australian kitchen taps are 22mm; many imported European and Asian taps are 24mm.

If the diverter valve threads on smoothly, you don't need this adaptor. If it cross-threads or won't engage, you likely need the adaptor.
